The Ukrainian government has imposed new sanctions against Russia. Economic constraints include a ban on imports of a number of “industrial products, mineral fertilizers […] and vehicles,” as well as the application of special duties.
The Ukrainian government announced that restrictions and increased duties will affect only those goods that are already manufactured in the country or can be replaced by analogues. Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv added that the additional budget revenues will amount to at least $ 140 million (3.7 billion USD) and will be used to Finance import substitution programme.
In particular, Ukraine has imposed a ban on deliveries of Russian fertilizers, cement and vehicles.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman called the sanctions a “mirror measures”. Earlier, on 18 April, on the introduction of sanctions against Kiev, said Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. According to the decision of the Russian government, Moscow can also, at any time to stop the export of oil products and coal in Ukraine.
