Russia will send a new batch of weapons for the needs of the government army FACA in the Central African Republic (CAR). About it reports the French service RFI. According to journalists in the UN peacekeeping mission for the first time will bring together 30 personnel from Russia.
According to sources in diplomatic circles, the supply of weapons will happen in the next two weeks. Representatives of the President said that Russia will give the government army weapons “with the approval of the sanctions Committee of the UN.” The terms of the agreement between Russia and the Central African Republic were not disclosed.
This is not the first delivery of Russian weapons to the Central African Republic. In the beginning of 2018 Moscow made by the sanctions Committee of the UN security Council resolution on the supply of light weapons. Then Russia handed over the CAR including 840 Kalashnikovs, 5 thousand 300 rifles and rocket-propelled grenades.
For information, RFI, 30 Russian officers will also take part in the peacekeeping mission of the United Nations in CAR. Sources in the presidential circles said that Moscow has received the consent of the UN.
Previously, the decree to send in the CAR “to 30 Russian soldiers” to participate in the UN mission signed by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin.
