Political developments in Moldova: the Secretary General of the Council of Europe was harsh in his statements

The decision of the constitutional court of Moldova is “arbitrary in light of the Constitution and norms of international law”. This statement was made by thorbjørn Jagland, Secretary General of the Council of Europe.

June 8 in Moldova, the constitutional court once again dismissed from the “helm” of Igor Dodon, the President of the country. Thus Philip, a former Prime Minister, was allowed to disperse the Parliament, reports “Russian newspaper“.

“I urge the Parliament, democratically elected, legitimate government and all political forces to act with restraint and responsibly,” – appealed to the government of Moldova Jagland. Using his status and norms of international law, Council of Europe Secretary General sent a request to the Venice Commission to give a legal interpretation of the Moldovan mess.

The U.S. state Department called on all political forces in Moldova that are in Parliament, to sit at the negotiating table and work together to find a way out of the current political situation in the country.

Acting head of the government urged not to support Philip, who called snap elections to the Parliament of Moldova.
