The US special envoy on Ukraine Kurt Volker believes that the buildup of Russian troops on the border with Ukraine is part of the rotation. His words are quoted by UNIAN.
“Regarding the deployment of troops from the Russian side. They come and go. We have seen for several years that the number of troops grows in front of the rotation,” he said.
In his view, the buildup of Russian troops on the border with Ukraine “not evidence any new advances”.
In April it was reported that due to the growth of military activity of NATO Russia has increased troops of the Western and southern military districts by reducing their other groups. “In contrast to the placement of NATO troops near Russia’s borders and NATO’s initiative “4 to 30″ we have to strengthen the troops”, — said the chief of the General staff Valery Gerasimov. He noted that the number of Russian military will remain unchanged.
