The investigative Committee confirmed the death of 13 people in a plane crash with the Sukhoi Superjet 100 in Sheremetyevo. According to the preliminary version, the fire on Board occurred due to a failure in the electronics. This plane is over criticized for problems with the service, the abundance of foreign spare parts and frequent breakdowns. “Газета.Ru” recalls the complicated history of the creation and operation of the liner.
The tragic incident with the Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft, caught fire after takeoff from Sheremetyevo airport will undoubtedly affect the future of the aircraft, its production and the use of Russian and foreign airlines after the final determination of the causes of the incident.
However, it is clear that the crash will permanently be the number one topic when discussing the reliability of the aircraft and another argument from his critics.
Sukhoi Superjet 100 is the first civilian aircraft developed in Russia.
The flight range of the basic version of the ship of 4.4 thousand kilometers, the capacity of 98 passengers. Production began in 2011. From development to start of commercial operation 11 years have passed. The aircraft started to be developed in 2000. By October 2008 the Sukhoi Superjet 100, a cycle of factory tests and was submitted for certification of the Interstate aviation Committee.
Three years later, in April 2011, the first production SuperJet 100 was handed over in operation of the Armenian airline Armavia.
After the beginning of commercial operation of the KLA leadership declared that it will take another year or so to “cure childhood diseases”, but the upgrading of the aircraft took longer than planned.
The aircraft project was originally called the Russian Regional Jet (RRJ), he won the public competition for development of regional aircraft in 2003.
Initially, critics pointed to the large number of foreign participants in the creation of plane and joint ventures. So, in 2007 the share of foreign materials and components accounted for 55.4% and
and by 2016 it rose to 72%.
“Sukhoi civil aircraft” designed the aircraft, and U.S. company Boeing participated in the project as a consultant.
The SSJ-100 had a high proportion of the French “stuffing” — from avionics and system cleaning windshields to the fuel system, tires and electricity supply systems.
More than 20% of the SSJ-100 consists of U.S. components, and this is another of the problems of the long — suffering aircraft in January 2019, the United States blocked delivery of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 in Iran. In November 2018-year, SCAC President Alexander Rubtsov said that the company will return to the issue of aircraft deliveries to Iran after reduce the proportion of U.S. components in the liner to levels below 10%.
The main point of cooperation with foreign companies in the aircraft were the SaM146 engines, which are produced by the Russian NPO “Saturn” together with the French company Snecma (Safran). To create the SaM146, Snecma Moteurs and PJSC “NPO “Saturn” on a parity basis have established the joint venture PowerJet.
However, the main problems of the aircraft, which began to speak in recent years are related to after-sales maintenance and lack of spare parts, that result in downtime and losses for airlines.
Experts note that problems often arise from those airlines who have not previously stocked up on spare parts. So, in September of 2018 appeared informationthat the largest foreign operator of the Russian passenger aircraft “Sukhoi Superjet 100”,
Mexican Interjet may refuse the use of these vessels.
Problems with maintenance of the liners from this company began long ago. For example, in early 2017, the airline put 11 SSJ100 aircraft out of service for repairs after defects are detected on the nodes of the stabilizer.
And in January of this year, Bloomberg reported that the carrier was forced a few months to use four SSJ100, as well as the “kannibalisierung” (dismantled for parts) one liners.
Problems with SSJ100 arise from domestic operators. For example, Red Wings airlines has leased several ships, but quite quickly decided to abandon the operation of the aircraft.
In 2018, the same year has not gone unnoticed by the news about the problems with the operation of aircraft airline “Yakutia”.
“Because of the low health of the SSJ-100 “Yakutia” actually failed summer”, — said the Director of fleet Ivan Vinokurov of the newspaper “Kommersant”. According to technical Director of “Yakutia” Alexander Zinkova,
was revealed 33 cases when the engines failed due to design flaws of the combustion chamber.
“We experienced all the problems of operating new types of aircraft. And today orientirueshsya already on the Boeing aircraft whose parts are delivered quickly and is the established system worldwide,” said the Director of “Yakutia” Olga Fedorova.
About the problems of the SSJ-100 spoke and the largest operator of these aircraft — the airline “Aeroflot”. The domestic aircraft have problems with mechanization of the wing,
doesn’t the chassis, there are disruptions in the work of the GLONASS system.
Start of operation “Superjet” was marred by a heavy crash in 2012, when the plane crashed into a mountain while performing a demonstration flight in Indonesia. Then killed all on Board were 45 people, including 8 crew members.
In subsequent years of operation were marked by several incidents with the participation of SSJ100 aircraft, such as landing with landing gear, rolling-off beyond the runway, damage during towing, in which there were no casualties.
According to the latest data, on Sunday in Sheremetyevo killed 13 people –
this is the first catastrophe of the “Superjet” that occur during normal operation of the aircraft.
The tragedy, of course, will have serious consequences for the aircraft.
