Минобороны РФ протестировало «военный интернет»

The Russian army tested the operation of long-range “military Internet”, report “Izvestia” with reference to sources in the Ministry of defence.

According to the newspaper, data exchange ensured a highly secure local wireless network, which allowed to send large files, including audio and video information, at a distance of more than 2 thousand km.

During the exercises was used digital and mobile systems video conferencing ISS-P and MK SVX and space communications station R-438-N “Belozer”. Test involved more than 4.5 thousand soldiers.

The new system will allow to transmit information over a distance of several thousand kilometers. The Ministry also noted that all communication channels are securely protected from hacking, and data is encrypted.

The Russian armed forces started to create a sovereign Internet is in 2019. A closed system for the exchange of digital information called multiservice transport network (MTS).
