Ilya Yashin urged the CEC to postpone the elections to the Moscow city Duma

Unregistered candidate to the Moscow city Duma Ilya Yashin urged the CEC head Ella Pamfilova to cancel the elections scheduled for 8 September. “Assign a new vote at the end of autumn and ensure the participation of the opposition,” — said in a letter published on the policy page in Facebook.

Ilya Yashin suggested that Ella Pamfilova to cancel the “pseudo-elections to the Moscow city Duma” “in the name of the Constitution and in the interests of citizens.” “You’ve probably noticed that Muscovites military action is not scared. Saturday’s rally on Sakharov Avenue has collected 60 thousand people; almost three times more than the previous demonstration”, — he wrote.

Yashin added that such a decision could lead to the head of the CEC “serious problems with the administration” and “loss of office”. “But it certainly gives You respect for compatriots”, — the politician noted.

Ilya Yashin wrote an open letter to Ella Pamfilova from the detention center, where he is serving an administrative arrest for organizing the protest outside the Moscow city election Commission on July 14. On 9 August, the CEC finally refused registration on elections in the Moscow city Duma. Ilya Yashin is not enough 76 signatures.

In comments to radio station “Business FM”, Ella Pamfilova said that the postponement of elections is necessary “serious reasons”. “While only talking about the fact that you just registered those who had not collected signatures, and those who collected, not recorded,” — said the CEC head.
