A lightning strike sparked a new explosion at a military warehouse near Achinsk

As the result of a lightning strike at a military ammunition depot in the Achinsk district of Krasnoyarsk Krai there were two new cotton.

The lightning struck the fire from unexploded munitions, which led to their detonation. At this moment were working on demining.

Because of the incident injured five people, according to other sources the number of victims can reach up to eight. In Achinsk the hospital reported that injured four other soldiers. One civilian is on outpatient treatment, reports “Interfax”.

5 August at a military depot in the village of Kamenka when performing loading and unloading was ignited, which led to the explosion of ammunition. In the Achinsk district, was the evacuation of the population within a radius of 20 km.

Russia’s investigative Committee confirmed the death of one person as a result of a fire and explosion at a military warehouse in Krasnoyarsk region. In addition, eight received injuries of varying severity. From the area evacuated more than 16 thousand people

A criminal case was opened under part 2 of article 349 of the criminal code (“Violation of rules of handling weapons and objects posing increased danger to others, negligently caused human death”).

Update: the Regional authorities denied the lightning in the warehouse. The official version, the explosion occurred during the works on liquidation of consequences of emergency situations in Kamenka. Due to new circumstances and a sharp deterioration in weather conditions,the regional operational headquarters for emergency response decided an organized movement for residents of Kamenka in the temporary accommodation the village of Malinovka.

From the city of Achinsk and Achinsk district sent 11 buses for the removal of the villagers.
