The U.S. Department of defense has suspended 127 different construction programs in order to allocate $ 3.6 billion for the construction of fencing on the border with Mexico.
The Pentagon has cut the cost of foreign construction projects and those planned in the territory of the United States. The released funds will be used for the construction of 175 miles (281 kilometers) of new fencing. This will reduce the number of military personnel, who now serve on the border.
This decision outraged politicians from the Democratic party. They promised that they will fight against funding the wall in court.
In late July, the U.S. Supreme court authorized the use of $ 2.5 billion from the funds the Pentagon for the construction of border barriers. Previously these expenses were blocked by the lower court.
