Deutsche Bank, the biggest German Bank, joined a blockchain platform JPMorgan — Interbank information network (Interbank Information Network, IIN).
As reported by the Financial Times, launched in 2017, the blockchain-an initiative under the leadership JPMorgan has already attracted 320 banks.
Takis Georgakopoulos, head of payments Department at JPMorgan, said Deutsche Bank will be the first of the world’s largest banks joined IIN. Today Deutsche Bank is a global leader in terms of clearing transactions in euros. According to Georgakopoulos, JPMorgan plans to enter into a partnership with 400 banks by the end of 2019.
Network IIN based on the platform of Quorum from JPMorgan and is designed to solve problems of information exchange between banks and make faster transactions. The platform itself is Quorum running on the Ethereum blockchain.
JPMorgan is planning to launch its own digital currency JPM Coin by the end of 2019. Recently, JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon supported the project Libra from Facebook, saying that this stabilin not pose a threat to banks in the short term.
