The day of “electoral silence” began in Poland before the parliamentary elections, which will be held on Sunday.
The next parliamentary elections will be held in Poland on Sunday, October 13. Polish citizens will elect 460 deputies of the Sejm (lower house of Parliament) and 100 members of the Senate (upper house of Parliament).
In accordance with the Polish law, the “election silence” begins at midnight between Friday and Saturday and continues until the polls closed on Sunday evening.
In the period of “silence” prohibits publication of opinion polls, including exit polls, any kind of campaigning for certain candidates and political forces, rallies and demonstrations, distribution of promotional materials. In the period of “silence” cannot be disrupted previously plastered with propaganda posters. Ban propaganda on the Internet.
For violating the “silence regime” faces a monetary penalty, the largest in size from 500 thousand to 1 million zloty (from 125 to 250 thousand dollars) – provided for the dissemination of opinion polls.
In the struggle for Deputy mandates had joined nine political parties and associations.
