The authorities of the Sakhalin region plan to create the region’s scientific-educational center (REC) for the development of the resources of the shelf and the world ocean. On Thursday, November 7, TASS reported in the regional government.
As explained by the interlocutor of the Agency, the creation of the REC is included in the draft development strategy of the region until 2035. “The center will provide a single system to manage new infrastructure, train specialists to study marine and natural resources, biotechnology and mariculture, as well as in the field of advanced technologies for exploration and production offshore and marine robotics,” he said.
In addition, the center is planned to create test polygons, where will be developed the technology of resource extraction. Also the specialists of the REC will monitor the inventory of resources and modeling fields.
When it will be open center, as well as how much money you plan to devote to its creation, the government of the region said.
RECs are created in Russia within the Federal program “Development of scientific and scientific-production cooperation” of the national project “Science.” The first five of them will open in Perm Krai, Belgorod, Kemerovo, Nizhny Novgorod and Tyumen regions. In total, according to the program, to 2024 in the country should receive a minimum of 15 scientific and educational centers of the world level, 14 competence centres of STI, scientific and research centers. For the program it is planned to allocate 215 billion rubles.
