The detention of one of leaders of the radical organization “Ukrainian national Assembly — Ukrainian national self defense” (UNA-UNSO (an organization banned in Russia)), is prohibited in Russia, was held yesterday at the request of the Russian Federation. According to the SC, members of the UNA-UNSO organized a gang, which participated in fighting against Federal forces on the side of Chechen separatists from 1994 to 1995. The investigation implies that among the leaders of this gang in addition to Mazur, was Oleg Tyagnibok and Dmitry Yarosh.

The head of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Poland Jacek Czaputowicz said that the decision on the fate of previously transferred to the Ukrainian Ambassador Mazury will be made in accordance with international law.

The Ukrainian Ambassador in Warsaw, Andrei deshchytsa, has previously stated that Kiev intends to demand the release of the Mazur.

As noted by the Ukrainian representative, the Embassy informs the wife of Mazur on the status of his case. In addition, as said dedica, diplomats are liaising with a number of offices in Kiev and parliamentarians.

In particular, according to the Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Iryna Friz, the Ukrainian authorities must do everything possible to Poland was not given to Ukrainian nationalist Moscow.

In February it became known that Russian law enforcement agencies have evidence that Mazur had fought in the North Caucasus on the side of the militants and was also involved in the activities of gangs. About this informed the official representative of the Investigative Committee, Svetlana Petrenko.

And now Ukrainian diplomats intend to delay the transfer of Mazur to the Russian authorities. So, the head of the MIA of Ukraine Arsen Avakov is sure that the Russian request for the arrest of a citizen of Ukraine is unfounded.

According to him, the request was sent, in violation of articles 2 and 3 of the Charter of Interpol. These items document allegedly prohibit undue harassment and interference in the Affairs of the military, political, religious and racial character.

In this regard, the Ministry of internal Affairs of Ukraine sent a statement to gansereit Interpol and the Polish authorities. Kiev hopes “for a quick, objective and legal examination of this case.”
