Following the launch of the carrier rocket “Angara” will be held in 2020, reports TASS with reference to the press service state Corporation “Roscosmos” on Monday, December 23.
“Next year we plan to resume LV launches (of rockets. — Ed.) The Angara rocket will be transferred to the Center Khrunichev in the first quarter of 2020”, — stated in the message of Roscosmos.
The Corporation also added that they have already planned all the organizational arrangements related to the start of serial production of this rocket in Omsk, which would bring the price of rockets to market indicators.
Installation of technological equipment for the new launch complex for the Angara rocket has started at the Vostochny space centre on 15 December. In the manufacture of the equipment involved 14 companies who have previously worked on the construction of the cosmodrome Plesetsk, Baikonur and the launch pad under rocket “Soyuz-2” on the East.
“Angara” — a family of environmentally friendly carrier rockets of different classes. It includes light vehicles “Angara-1.2”, medium — “Angara-A3”, heavy “Angara-A5” and increased carrying capacity — “Angara-А5В”. The previous launch was carried out in 2014 from the Plesetsk cosmodrome.
