Many people know that cheese can be made at home, but laziness, lack of time or simply unwillingness to spend in the kitchen a couple of hours of so many makes it impossible to try something truly delicious. Of course, much easier to go to the supermarket and choose the cheese on the counter.
However, not everything is so smooth: like the date of manufacture recent, and smell good, but take one bite — where there is to homemade cheese! Two completely different products! And what a taste, what flavor of cheese is prepared in the home… don’t be lazy — and you will know what should be the real cheese!
Homemade cream cheese
0.5 kg of cheese
1 tsp. soda
salt, spices, herbs (to taste)
Put the curd and soda in a small saucepan and put it in a water bath.
Mash the cottage cheese to avoid lumps and so that it is well mixed with the soda.
When the curd will slowly start to melt and become homogeneous and constantly stir to not stick to the bottom of the pan. Keep the curd on the heat until then, until it becomes quite liquid and it will not pass a characteristic sour smell.
When the curd will turn into a dense milky fluid, then removing the cheese from the water bath, add salt, spices and herbs to taste.
Hold on the heat for another 10 minutes, and then perelivy in the mold to harden and move to the fridge.
This is stored as cheese and cottage cheese, about 5 days.
