Ford figured out how to protect the police from coronavirus

Ford has created a new software that can help to disinfect police vehicles, neutralizing coronavirus.

Software temporarily increases the temperature inside the SUV Police Interceptor Utility is above 133 degrees for 15 minutes. This helps to reduce the concentration of the virus inside the machine more than 99%, the company said.

The Police Interceptor Utility SUVs are produced at the Ford plant in Chicago.

Ford worked with Ohio state University to determine the temperature and timeframe necessary to reduce the spread of the virus. In addition, Ford conducted testing on the machines belonging to the police Department of new York city, the police Department of Los Angeles and others.

The software is available for all buyers 2013-19 Police Interceptor Utility in the United States, Canada and other countries.

“We looked at our equipment and how we can help. In this case, we transformed the transmission and the thermal control system of the machine in Converter virus”, said Hau Thai-Tang, head of manufacturing and supply division of Ford motor company.

When activated the transmission and the thermoregulatory system will begin to work together to automatically raise the temperature in the cabin. The software warms the engine up to a certain level, and then includes the full configuration of the system of thermoregulation. The internal temperature is automatically controlled by the software to know when it reaches the optimum level, after which this temperature is maintained for 15 minutes minimum.

The police will be a number of ways to observe the process, for example light bulbs will be lit at the beginning of the process and will change color after disinfection. Also developed the process of lowering the temperature after reaching the highest point.

Heating of the interior of the car along with the recommendations of the Centers for control and prevention of diseases of the United States can help to reach areas that could not miss the other hand disinfection procedures.
