Of course, you can sharpen them yourself, but to buy full-length grinding machine is not always advisable.
In this article, the author of the YouTube channel “KJDOT” will tell You how he made a miniature grinding machine suitable for sharpening of drills.
This project is very easy to manufacture, and can be repeated in the home environment.

The process of making.
Thus, the main material for the body of the machine will serve as a sheet of plywood 10 mm. From it master cut a couple of rectangular workpieces with dimensions 70X55 mm and one 60X40 mm.
These parts are connected by screws with countersunk head, for which the author pre-drills out the pilot hole drill bit for wood with countersink.
The base of the machine is made of the same plywood, with the first part of the housing is at an angle of 30 degrees.
This detail, as the previous one, is cut with an electric jigsaw. Then all the edges are sanded with sandpaper.

Now, the author lays out and drills out the holes for the bracket that will hold the engine.
Used motor 555 is supplied with the voltage from 12 to 24 V.
These screws tighten with a screwdriver and the engine is screwed to the holder.
On the motor shaft is fixed adapter for diamond discs.
In the side wall, the pen drill a 12 mm hole is drilled for the power connector.
Also the hole for the neck of the main switch with a diameter of 6 mm.
For the convenience of soldering, the author uses “third hand”, and primaeval wire to the motor and the switch.
The switch is installed in its place. Neck length is not enough, so the toggle is fixed with a second adhesive.
Remains to miss the wires through the hole, solder them to the power connector and fix it to the housing.
Protective cover, master has made a PVC tube with an inner diameter of 45 mm and a length of 86 mm. is Cut out this part using knife attachment for a soldering iron.
The author has provided in the casing a recess for a wrench, this is marked with an arrow.

To the top of the support the author glued aluminium angle, which makes it easy to hold the drill in position.

The power source for the machine that will serve as such a universal adjustable unit on 4A. With switch, you can set output voltage 12, 15, 16, 18, 19, 20, 24 V.
This feature will allow you to adjust the engine speed range from 6000 to 12000 rpm.
