At first, the design of such a product seems impossible, but the whole secret lies in the strained chains, threads, or ropes.

Unfortunately the author saw into disrepair in the process of cutting out (it was probably for the best, because such a machine has not all of You, and the wizard wouldn’t have shown an alternative way of cutting).
Of course, it would be possible to do the usual electric jigsaw, but it is also not there.
So, in this case, comes to the aid of a hand router with a straight cutter. First, the author cuts away the excess wood from the outer parts of the arch. Then the edge of the slice is processed with a file.
Similarly, inverting the workpiece, is removed and the internal section.
You will also need two curved uprights in the form of halves of the arch.
All surfaces are sanded with an orbital machine.
For the table top and the base of the Desk wizard was already ready two of the same shield.
The first thing he noted on the table of the centers of the bolt holes.
At each of the corners of countertops, with the top side, drilled two holes of sweat under. To control the depth the author put the mark on the drill.

For fastening the arches to the table top, conventional screws are not enough. The author had to cut Dremel a groove for a flat slot in the screw heads.
At the ends of the arches are drilled the pilot holes for the screws, and they attach to the top.
The author forgot to round out the faces of the arches, and decided to do it on weight… a risk taker.
Of course, this operation must be performed on the fixed workpiece. This uses radius milling cutter with thrust bearing.

The countertop is flipped upside down, and at the top of the arches drilled holes. They installed the bolts with a hook on which nagisetty wing nut. These nuts will stretch the chain.
