Looking for a simple way to glamorise your appearance pronto for a festive family gathering, or a virtual celebration with loved ones? Grab a stylish head band!

Even if you have zero make-up on, or you’re having a bad hair day, a pretty hair accessory achieves a makeover in seconds. Says fashion designer Pria Kataaria Puri, “Slipping on a jewelled hair band does away with the need for wearing trinkets. Go for a practical option that is comfortable to wear and looks rich.”

As you struggle through home-bound life, her bright collection of lightweight hair bands studded with a smattering of glossy embellishments such as faux pearls and rubies provide an easy way to up your style several notches. “The Swarovski and crystals on each plastic hair band sheathed in resplendent satin, silk and velvet create virtual showstoppers. They are versatile accessories to team with both Indian and Western wear,” she says.

“These bands are perfect for those endless work-from-home days and even for the refreshing drive outs, invigorating evenings with a group of close friends and intimate gatherings during festivals,” says designer Payal Singhal of her collection of vintage inspired modern turban headbands, in collaboration with luxury accessory major Joey & Pooh.

Whimsical, fun and flirty, each of the 17 limited edition pieces brings in a rather boho-cool sensibility. The head bands sport traditional embroidery techniques, modern 3D embellishments, signature prints, metallic tassels, detachable hangings, and pompoms. Flora and fauna inspired motifs dart through rose pinks, and bursts of lime, blue, and peach. “Part-vintage, part-quirky and all-round free-spirited design, the “Mommy-and-Me” duos make the most of special moments that moms and daughters share as well,” adds Payal with a smile.
