Construction of the aircraft model “Dart Vader” and its modifications
As the author of the models about which I will talk, he is not an aeromodellist, but an aeromodelist. In general, he is a retired locksmith and his name is Tony Odeli – Locke.
I introduced you to the author, now I will acquaint you with his models .
I'll start with the Dart Vader model aircraft, dart number two.
This model, from the dynasty of the Vixen aircraft model, just like the previous models that I showed you, is created according to the scheme with a wide, load-bearing fuselage.
Here is a drawing – a drawing by which you can make templates and cut blanks for this model.
The author begins to show the process of creating a model with blanks for the cabin and then gluing the two halves. When gluing, the parts are fixed with paper, masking tape until completely dry.
Next, two planes are made, which, after assembly, form a wing and a fuselage at the same time.
On the lower plane, all internal, partitions, side walls and keels are mounted.
Motor mounts are glued.
They are made of 3 mm plywood.
Some elements bend. Before bending, do not forget to cover the material with transparent tape to avoid cracks and breaks.
Each electronic part has its own place in compliance with the CG model. Servos are glued in.
Motors are attached to aluminum plates 2-2.5 mm thick.
Motors are mounted.
Fitting of parts is carried out and the upper plane of the wing – the fuselage is mounted.
A hole is cut in the forward fuselage for access to the battery when installing or replacing it.
The hatch is glued to the cabin blank.
The cockpit together with the hatch is fixed on the fuselage with magnets. Holes are made in the cab for ventilation. Holes are also made in the fuselage.
The model is ready to fly. This is her flight.
The author suggests more one variant of this model. The difference is that the next model has one motor in the middle of the fuselage. In this regard, a small reconstruction of the model is being carried out.
The process for creating this single motor version is the same as for the first model. I will tell you about the small differences in more detail
Everything is done the same, the difference is that a hole is cut in the fuselage to rotate the propeller.
All the subtleties are clear from the photographs.
The upper and lower fuselage planes are assembled and ready to be glued together.
Servos are mounted, rods are connected.
Final gluing of the two fuselage halves.
Luke, to replace the battery is done in the same way, only gets fixed differently. without magnets.
After the first flight, the author covered the model with colored tape.
Flight video.
At the end of my story, I show photos of the construction of another model called “One Vader” – this is a huge version of the “Dart Vader” model.
The scope of this model is about 1 meter.
In some photos, the author makes a comparison of two identical models, different in size.
I forgot to say that the author installed the chassis on this model.
