Tools and materials:
-Billets from different types of wood;
– Circular saw;
– Planing machine;
– Danish oil;
– Joiner's glue;
Step one: cutting
The most convenient tool to cut bars into 2-3 mm thick dies is to use a band saw.
Unfortunately, the master's machine broke down and the sawing had to be done with a circular saw. After sawing, all the dies were of different thicknesses and much thicker than the required 3 mm. Then the master used a planing machine.

Now you can glue the blanks. The master uses Titebond 2 waterproof joinery glue.
Step Three: Roughing
After gluing, he cuts off the edges of the workpiece. Marks a 24 mm circle on it. This is the size of the circumference of your finger. He had a drill for 20 and 25 mm. The 25th hole will be large and he drills a 20 mm hole and processes a hole up to 24 mm on a milling machine.

Then he grinds the ring forming the desired shape.

I put a ring on the cork and wrapped it with a strip of material. Then I turned on the screwdriver and the inside was sanded against the cork.
Covers the ring with Danish oil.
Ring ready, but the master was not entirely satisfied with the result.
Step five: second ring
After repairing the band saw, the foreman decided to make a second ring. Now everything is much easier, with the help of a machine you can cut workpieces of the required thickness. The rest of the steps are the same, grinding, polishing, coating.
Everything is ready. < br>
