Many of you are bored with the same type of shop chandeliers, and sometimes you want to make something special yourself. Surely you are familiar with the effect of an “endless” mirror, and it can be used to create lamps.
In this article, the author of the YouTube channel “IDEAS Channel” will tell you how you can make a LED chandelier with a 3D effect.
This project is not very difficult to manufacture, and can be repeated in a short home workshop.
Materials necessary for home-made.
– Controllers (with radio control) LED strip
– LED strip 5050
– Power supply for LEDs 12 V
– Sheet plywood 12 mm thick, glass, mirror
– Mirror self-adhesive window film
– Nylon tape, wood screws with press washer, sandpaper
– Solder, 3M insulating tape
– Joiner's glue , acrylic paint.
So, the author bought a round mirror with a diameter of 650 mm, and cut out glass of the same size.
First business needs to make a frame for a mirror and glass. The author chose sheet plywood with a thickness of 12 mm as a material for it.
First, he cuts out a square blank using a guide and a hand-held circular saw.

Having calculated the center of the resulting circle, mark the second, inner circle of a smaller diameter using a thread and a pencil.
To turn it into a disk, the master resorts to using a circular saw with a carriage. The workpiece is attached to the carriage through the center with a small stud. First, a rough cut of excess plywood is done.
When performing this operation, the master leaves a margin of 30-40 mm from the outer circle, this will be the outer part of the frame.

This method is not very good – it leaves a lot of trimmings and also requires a circular saw. It would be much easier to use a hand router with circular tooling, the production and use of which was described in detail in a recent article.
< a href = "https://usamodelkina.ru/uploads/posts/2020-12/1608160632_ldl-039.jpg" rel = "prettyPhoto"> Then the author goes to the milling machine to make a groove for the mirror. A straight wood cutter is installed on the router, and its overhang is set to a height of 6 mm (glass thickness).
Milling is also performed by rotating the workpiece on the carriage.
Cut excess central part of the disc, is performed using an electric jigsaw fixed under the workbench. This creates a frame for a mirror. All these operations could be performed with only one hand router with a circular nozzle.

< a href = "https://usamodelkina.ru/uploads/posts/2020-12/1608160719_ldl-054.jpg" rel = "prettyPhoto"> Central the disk is divided into eight sectors and rectangular tabs are marked. The shape of the inner outlines can be arbitrary.

The author cut out the glass himself, and the edges did not come out very even, but these defects will quietly hide under frame.
< a href = "https://usamodelkina.ru/uploads/posts/2020-12/1608160671_ldl-090.jpg" rel = "prettyPhoto"> On the pieces of plywood, the master marks the outlines of the brackets that will connect the two parts of the chandelier structure. < br> Parts are cut with the same electric jigsaw.
The author performs contour processing with a simple straight cutter, trying to maintain the desired distance manually. To perform these operations, it is more expedient to make a simple template, and perform processing using a cutter with a thrust bearing. This will ensure that all parts have the same shape.
< a href = "https://usamodelkina.ru/uploads/posts/2020-12/1608160715_ldl-121.jpg" rel = "prettyPhoto"> Now you can apply paint to all parts of the structure using an electric spray gun, or a trivial aerosol can. < br> After the paint layer has dried, you need to sand the surface with sandpaper, removing the stuck dust particles. If you wish, you can apply a second coat of paint.
Having made a small groove for the wire in the frame, the author puts the wire and fixes it with a glue gun.
After This is done by gluing the LED strip along the inner perimeter of the base.
Surplus the tapes must be cut according to the “with scissors” label on it. If you do it in the wrong place, three section LEDs will stop working.

< a href = "https://usamodelkina.ru/uploads/posts/2020-12/1608160715_ldl-157.jpg" rel = "prettyPhoto"> Second the lighting contour will be located on the outside of the connecting brackets. The tape must be cut into equal segments of a suitable length, and the power wires must be soldered to them. You also need to calculate the length of the wires so that you can connect them in parallel in the center of the chandelier.
It is advisable to choose the wiring in a transparent shell, so they will be less conspicuous. You can also hide these wire sections by drilling holes in the brackets.
Wire power is fixed on the top of the staples with the same hot glue.
Now you need to stick a mirror film with 10% reflectivity on the glass.
To avoid wrinkles and bubbles, a small amount of soap solution is applied to clean glass and smoothed over the entire surface.
The mirror film is glued to the glass, and immediately you need to expel all the bubbles with a rubber spatula.

The second part of the frame with the LED strip and a mirror are laid out on top.
By connecting brackets are put on the perimeter of the structure. A protrusion on the brackets separates the upper and lower parts of the structure, increasing the distance between the reflective surfaces. By adjusting it, you can achieve different depths of the “three-dimensional” picture.
< a href = "https://usamodelkina.ru/uploads/posts/2020-12/1608160723_ldl-249.jpg" rel = "prettyPhoto"> To hang the chandelier, the master fixes a nylon tape on the frame, fixing the strips with wood screws with a press -washer.
It remains to connect the radio-controlled controller to the LED strip, supply 12 V power to it, and hang the chandelier .
Here is such an interesting chandelier with a 3D effect made by the master.
By using a colored addressable LED strip with a controller in the inner ring instead of a simple white one, you can dramatically expand the capabilities and lighting effects of this chandelier.
In these tape models, each LED “pixel” is independently controlled. The ribbon can shimmer with all the colors of the rainbow, both according to a given program and in the form of color music.
