How to make a basic orbital sander

Hello, dear readers and homemade products !
Surely many of you are familiar with the so-called orbital (dish) grinding machine, which can often be found even in small workshops.
In this article, the author of the YouTube channel “Idea Generator” will tell you how you can build a small orbital grinding machine based on a grinder. Such a construction will fit as a temporary replacement, or it can be used on the road, because you can't take the whole workshop with you.
How to make the simplest orbital grinding machine

This project very easy to manufacture, and can be repeated from scrap materials literally in a few minutes.
Materials necessary for home-made.
– Plumbing clamps
– Disc sanding attachment
– Sanding discs with Velcro
– Board, timber, wood screws, wood glue.
Tools used by the author.
– Power regulator, 4000 W, 220 V
– Bulgarian with speed control
– Screwdriver
– Miter saw
– F-clamps
– Square, tape measure, marker.

So, a wide board, a piece of chipboard or plywood is suitable for the base of the machine. The master cuts out a rectangular base from it. In this case, a miter saw is used, although special accuracy of the parts is not required here, and you can use a regular hacksaw.

In order not to snag the surface of the workbench with the drill, the author sticks a piece of masking tape on the drill – it will serve as an indicator of the drilling depth.

How to make the simplest orbital sander How to make a simple orbital sander Although such disc nozzles are designed to work with a grinder, an important point is the use of a grinder with the ability to adjust the speed.
If your grinder is not equipped with such a built-in regulator, then you can use a separate external adjustment unit. An inexpensive power regulator is perfect for these purposes.
How to make a simple orbital sander Here's a simple machine turned out. Almost all basic operations can be performed on it, except that the support table has no tilt angle adjustment. The angle of inclination of the grinding disc can be partially adjusted by turning the grinder body in the clamps.
