Panel that makes you invisible

The panel that makes you invisible Panel that makes you invisible The panel that makes you invisible of times wanted at certain moments to have a mechanism that makes him invisible. Let us recall the invisible hat from Russian fairy tales, The Invisible Man by Herbert Wells, or oriental fairy tales, which also describe various capes, scarves or potions.
With the development of technology, fairy tales can come true. Of course, what the master offers us to do is not an invisible hat, but who knows how technologies will develop in the future.
Tools and materials: -Lens sheet (711 x 1016 mm); – UV glue;
-Sheet of transparent polycarbonate (3,2 x 1219 mm);
-UV lamp 100 W; -Rubber roller;
-Tool for cutting polycarbonate;
-Bending machine;
-Marker; < br> -Rule;
Step one: preparation of polycarbonate
First, you need to cut the shield and side handles from a sheet of polycarbonate. A PDF drawing is attached below. You can use a CNC machine or any other suitable tool for cutting.

The most expensive material in this project is the lens. On the master's website, a 711 x 1016 mm lens costs $ 80. As far as it is clear from the description, this is a sheet of PETG plastic with a certain pattern on the surface. It may be “Lenticular Film Sheets” but I'm not sure. Probably the correct name for this material, lens raster or lenticular plastic.
The lens itself bends and needs a solid base. Polycarbonate acts as such a base. You need to glue the lens and polycarbonate.
Remove the film from the front of the shield and put it on some boxes to raise it off the floor.
Next, you need to make sure that the screen and lenticular sheet do not have dust on the surface. The craftsman wiped them with a microfiber cloth soaked in alcohol, but you can also use a paper towel.

Then carefully place the lenticular sheet (lens) on the adhesive. The lenticular sheet has a smooth side and a corrugated side. Be sure to lay the sheet with the smooth side facing the glue and the corrugated side facing out.
Use your hands or a roller to press down on the lenticular sheet and force the adhesive to spread and fill the entire air gap between the polycarbonate and the lenticular sheet. If you see a bubble in the glue, press firmly on it, squeeze and push the bubble towards the edge of the sheet. It's much easier to do this with a video.
When squeezing out, the glue will fall on the polycarbonate, so you need to wipe it with a napkin moistened with alcohol.
The panel that makes you invisible Panel that makes you invisible For glue polymerization you need to place it under a UV light source. The UV source should be 25-50 cm away from the screen. If the light source is too close, the light will not spread to the edges of the shield, if it is too far, the glue will not harden.
The master turns on the spotlight for 24 hours. If the adhesive around the edges of the board does not harden even after 24 hours, move the spotlight closer to the edge.
After gluing, remove the last layer of the protective film and remove the remaining uncured adhesive with a microfiber cloth or paper towel soaked in alcohol.

Now, for convenience, you need to fix the handles. To do this, the master uses a film with an adhesive on both sides.
Removes the protective layer from the handles (polycarbonate strips). Sticks a film with a sticky layer on the tabs. Glues stripes to tabs.

For greater effect, you need to follow some rules. The background should have wide horizontal stripes. It can be a staircase, aluminum siding, bricks, railings, a dark TV on a one-color stand, really anything that has clearly visible horizontal stripes.
