Petro Poroshenko, President of Ukraine, acknowledged the fact that Ukraine is one of the poorest countries in Europe.
Today, November 12, in Kiev during a meeting of the regional development Council, the President of Ukraine declared that Ukraine is very poor, and at the same time commented on the gas price hike for the population, the resource LIGAnews.
The head of Ukraine said that the government managed to restore economic growth, but a large part of the population is still at risk of poverty. Moreover, all of Ukraine still not up to European standards of living, and the country is one of the poorest in the EU.
To continue to keep Ukraine afloat, the government is forced to choose either bad or very bad, said Poroshenko. That is why it was decided to increase gas prices for Ukrainians, not to remain without IMF money. And here the President of Ukraine even remembered the ancient Greek mythology, comparing the difficult choice between Scylla and Charybdis.
At the end of his speech, Poroshenko said that in the near future Ukraine will refuse IMF money and go to investments.
