On Tuesday, February 12, HealthGrades released its annual ranking of the Best hospitals in the US in 2019 (America’s Best Hospitals 2019). Evaluation occurred on the basis of clinical indicators of quality in 32 areas (inpatient conditions and procedures provided) demonstrating “exceptional, comprehensive and quality service” in hospitals. The figures for the new rating were taken from statements on Medicare for 2015-2017
On the basis of these indicators was formed top 50, top 100 and top 250, in which patients are more likely to receive effective treatment without serious complications and with a minimum percentage of lethal outcome.
The organization saidthat the nominated hospital “surpassed their colleagues in the treatment of the main group of diseases which accounts for more than 80% of deaths, like heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, sepsis, stroke, etc.”. It is noted that the average risk of mortality during treatment in these hospitals 27.1% lower than other hospitals in the United States.
According to the company top 50 (yellow star) correspond to 1% of the best hospitals of the total health facilities in the United States, which from year to year provided the best treatment, the top 100 (grey star) – represent 2% of the top 250 (in the rankings not marked in any way) – 5%.

The undisputed leader is California: as many as 42 of its hospitals included in the ranking in different positions, among which 11 came in the top 50, 9 in the top 100. At the 2nd place Ohio with 23 medical institutions, the three leaders completes the PA – it in the top 15 medalists. In the state of new York was awarded a total of 7 hospitals:
— in the top 50 got Rochester General Hospital in Rochester (Monroe County) on 1425 Portland Ave. and Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie (Dutchess County now County) at 45 Reade Pl.;
— top-100 — Lenox Hill Hospital in new York, 100 E 77th St. and Stony Brook University Hospital in stony brook (Suffolk County) 101 Nicolls Road;
— top 250 — NYU Langone Medical Center in new York 550 1st Ave., NYU Winthrop Hospital in Mineola (Nassau County) at 259 1st St., Orange Regional Medical Center in middletown (orange County) on 707 E Main St.
In General, the rankings of hospitals from 43 States. In 7 States (Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Maine, Mississippi, new Hampshire and North Dakota) no health care facility are unable to reach even the top 250.
