An irreplaceable white (by the way, a foreman's helmet) with a camera fulfills its functions. True, the view is pretty wild. Not to defile on the podium, after a while the pilots brothers got used to it and did not shy away.
Then there was a natural desire to shoot something from my aircraft. I have a lot of cameras. True, they are slightly big and not quite in “feather weight”.
As an experimental platform I built a large wing called “CHEBURATOR”.
I wrote a little about the manufacture and flights of this structure. underlays for laminate and several strips. The wing profile was taken from a standard combat cord wing.
Since this is my first wing, I've been polishing it for a long time. As a result, it flew perfectly and, most importantly, stayed in the air in almost any wind.

Shot with SAMSUNG S1050 camera. To protect the retractable lens, I made a tube. Which saved the device more than once. I adapted several batteries instead of batteries. This not only reduced weight, but also increased shooting time.
The camera is mounted from a bracket from an auto-recorder and a plywood platform.
This option gave a little vibration. Redesigned for a more stable version.
The first shooting took place in the evening in the fall. The view was not very pretty, just our model airplane field.
After shooting with SAMSUNG S1050 camera, decided to try a DVR, it is much smaller and lighter. I chose a mostly horizontal arrangement of the case. The vertical flat plate has significant resistance. It does not have a very good effect on control and flight in general. I realized this while flying with a camera.
But the quality of the picture from the recorders that came to me left much to be desired. Technically, of course, the image is visible and the flight too … but .. but .. And there is no image stabilization.

It was fixed on the belly of the plane with Velcro. The picture is slightly better. One is good in the DVR – you can set the cut-off time, always set it to two minutes and turn off the sound. the wind howling in the microphone annoys me.

And this one didn't satisfy me. After the tragic death of Cheburator. The power wiring fell off and the board was de-energized. The wing fell apart from the impact.
Made the following platform wing. Bigger size. Practically into a backing sheet for laminate flooring. For a stable and calm flight I chose a flat-convex wing profile.
I flew in different modes “without anyone”, in the sense without a camera. Adjusted and adjusted the winglet.
A more advanced and rigid bracket, again from the car DVR mount. Conducted several tests of this fastening system. I used a PENTAX camera for filming.
Having played around with the wings, I decided to try a large glider. It is clear that the glider flies more steadily and does not dangle so much in the air. In addition, we again managed to get another DVR. Small flat body with a lens in front. Fastened under the wing with Velcro. Holds on quite tightly. You can install the lens forwards and, which is a little cooler, backwards. The system was tested on our aircraft modeling field.

Initially, I was also not satisfied with the picture from this DVR. He began to twist it. Adjusted the sharpness, reflashed. Sweet candy didn't come out. But the quality is quite acceptable. Especially in bright sun. As an additional power supply, I adapted an external battery for long flights. With short ones, the internal one is quite enough, which I also replaced with a more capacious one. The biggest one that fits into the body.
It perfectly fulfills its direct function. Stands in the car. If necessary I take pictures, put them on a plane and fly.
I flew, shot and in winter the glider recorder system works quite stably at a temperature of -20 ° C. I did not fly with a big minus. I want to get pleasure, not snot frozen in my nose.

The recorder was very useful for technical filming, so to speak. Filmed the first flights of my cardboard glider. The camera was fixed on the back and directed to the separate structures of the apparatus. it was necessary to check how the tail works, whether the wing bends or flutters. I set the cutoff in two minutes, actually I didn't need more.

The younger son, an avid motorcyclist, gave his type security camera. I didn't like it, I bought another one.
Again I needed to test the airframe design. < br>He restored an excellent F1A class apparatus and converted it to radio control. But it was controlled by two channels. Elevator and rudder. I have never flown with this option. It was necessary to find out how everything works. Installed the recorder on the back of the glider. Directed to the tail and wing.
The wing is very well made. Self-extinguishing flutter.
