Swing-out table for board games

This table is completely a project of the master and his children. When the need arose for a table for games that would not take up much space, they went over a few ideas.
At first there was an idea to make a table with removable panels, but then there is a problem in their storage. If you make a table with reclining lids, then it will be uncomfortable to sit with the table folded.
And then one of his sons suggested making a table with folding sides. Moreover, the sides have the shape of triangles, and in order for them to have support, the tabletop must turn and the triangles will rest on the legs.

Step one: design
The master gives all dimensions in inches, and there is no point in converting them into centimeters. The main principle, and it is clear from the photographs. A square tabletop and an isosceles triangle is hinged to each side of the tabletop. The bisector of a triangle is equal to the length from the edge of the table to the center.

Next, the master cuts two squares out of plywood. Then one of the squares is cut diagonally into four triangles.
Step Three: Swivel
Since the tabletop must rotate 90 degrees before the sash will be installed, we need a hinge. The craftsman decided to use the “Chicago screw”.
This screw is essentially an elongated flat head nut. The nut is smooth on the outside and with an internal thread. It connects with a short flat head screw at the end. The flat heads rest on the parts to be fastened. By choosing the correct length of the nut, this arrangement will allow the two pieces to rotate but not separate. If the propeller is too long, washers can be inserted.
Step fourth: table support
As a support, the master decided to make a cross from OSB, which will rest on the legs with rays.
Cuts out a square and rays. At the ends, the rays are filed at an angle and the supporting parts of the legs are attached to them.

Step fifth: the main worktop
Now you need to drill a screw hole in the center of the worktop. First, drill the hole with a thin drill, then countersink so that the cap is flush.

Now you need to install loops. Each triangle will have two hinges.
The master marks and mills the grooves for them.
Step Seven: Ring
In order to unfold the table, you need to raise the triangles. But if they fit without gaps, this is not easy to do. In order not to break nails and not slip knives, in an attempt to raise the triangle, the master decided to install a ring on one of them.
Step eight: grinding and finishing
The table is ready for assembly and the master starts grinding details.

Step Nine: Building
Now you can start assembling. Installs the cross on the legs. Sets the tabletop.
