Beading machine + machine manual
In this article we will talk about how to make a machine for beading. The DIY master will guide us through all the steps of its manufacture, and then tell us how to use it.
Tools and materials: -Circular saw; -Drilling machine; -Hand grinder;
– Hacksaw for metal;
-Clamps;
-Glue ;
-Lumber;
-Fasteners;
-Screwdriver;
-Threaded studs;
-Screw-ring – 4 pcs;
-Spokes;
-Tishki (pegs ) for golf; -Beads; -Beading needle # 10; -Beaded thread; -Slip clasp for bracelet;
-Play card;
Step one: base
Any board is suitable for the base. The master had planks from the past homemade, and he decided to make a base of them.
It will connect the planks in the thorn-groove method. Flashes the connection. Assembles three wide blanks (each with three strips).
It trims the blanks and cuts grooves from the ends.
Then he applies glue to the joints and assembles the base.
Sands the board after gluing.
Step Two: Bars and Racks
Now you need to make two bars and two racks. Studs will be installed in the bars. The wizard simply saws them off to the width of the base.
Racks are made from the same planks from which he made the base.
In the upper part of the racks you need to make semicircular cuts, then grind the parts.
Step three: marking and drilling holes
Before marking the holes, you need to cut the studs to length. The length of the studs is equal to the length of the base.
Now about the holes and pins. In the lower part, three studs are installed along the entire length of the rack. One of the racks will move along these pins and thus the length of the bracelet can be adjusted.
Two transverse needles will be installed at the top. Threads will pass through their upper part.
Golf pegs will be installed in the middle. They will secure the ends of the threads.
The height of the lower studs should allow the adjustable post to slide and the wing nut should not snag on the base. The peg holes must be equally spaced and match the diameter of the pegs. There should be no protruding screws at the bottom that could scratch the table.
The holes in the post that will move must be larger than the diameter of the stud.
Step four: assembly
Screw a ring screw into the holes. The spokes will be installed in the rings.
The pegs need to be cut at the end, so it is easier to fix the ends of the threads.
Sand the ends after sawing.
Now you can assemble the machine. The bars and the stand are glued and screwed on. In front of and behind the moving stand, wing nuts must be screwed onto the studs (two on one stud are enough). The studs will fix the rack.
Now you can proceed to making the bracelet.
Step five: design
The master will show how to work on the machine using the example of weaving a bracelet.
Measures the diameter of the wrist first. Then he shifts the rack to the same length and fixes it with nuts. You need to set the length on the needles.
The beads are 3mm wide. There are 53 pieces on a length of 160 mm. There will be twelve beads in a row. This size is due to the clasp. For his design, the master chooses a 50 by 12 grid. The design will be quite simple, as the master also weaves a bracelet for the first time.
Then he makes and prints a bracelet diagram in Excel. For those who do not know how to work in the program, a small instruction.
Click cell 1-A.
Scroll down the slider and find cell 50-L.
Hold down the Shift key and click cell 50 L.
This operation will select all the cells you need.
Next you need to select the format tab in the upper right corner of the Excel toolbar. Here you will find the row height and column width settings. This will make the selected cells more similar to the shape of the bead you are creating.
Now you can select sections of the mesh and color them. If you click one cell and hold down the Shift key while selecting another cell, the range of cells in between will be selected. You can add cells one at a time by holding down the ctrl key and clicking the cells you want.
To color the cells, click the arrow to the right of the paint can on the left side of the Excel toolbar and select the color you want.
You can now send your diagram to print. < br>
Step Six: Thread
The needles must be securely fastened. The technician cuts the silicone tube and makes a hole in it. Then he puts the tubes on the knitting needles on both sides.
Further loosens the wing nuts and sets the machine lengthwise. Fixes the stand.
Wraps the end of the thread around the end of the peg.
Then he winds the thread around the knitting needles. In total, 13 threads are needed, always 1 more than the cross beads. The end attaches to another peg. These threads are called – warp.
Now we need to separate the warp threads. The master does this with a playing card. The first thread is down, then the thread is up, then down again, and so on to the end. This operation will help when adding the first row of beads.
Now you need to secure the weft thread. Beads will be strung on this thread. The thread is cut to a comfortable length and threaded with the needle.
Step Seven: Beading
Next, string 12 beads of the first row …
Now you need to place a row of beads on your finger and press them against the warp threads. The warp threads should alternate through the beads, i.e. bead – thread, bead – thread, etc.
Then you need to stretch the needle on the right into the eyelets of the beads, and the needle should pass on top of the thread. The resulting mesh is: shuttle thread – warp threads – shuttle thread.

Then remove the map and pull the row to the edge.
Next, add the second row.
We weave a bracelet according to the scheme.
When the weft thread runs out, thread it through the beads and tie. Pull another thread into the needle and tie it.
Continues weaving. The closer to the end, the more tension on the warp threads will be felt.
The last row fits close to the spoke. The puffing of beads seen in the photographs will smooth out after removing the bracelet from the machine.
Weaving is finished, and you need to free the ends of the threads and remove the bracelet from the needles. < br>
If the bracelet is “massaged”, the beads will align and the loops at the ends of the bracelet will tighten.
The last operation is to install the fastener.
Everything is ready. This is the author's first experience in making a loom and beading.
And this is already his second work.
