Typically, printing takes a long time, and it is not possible to constantly monitor this process.
To find out why this or that failure occurred, experienced users set up a general view camera, and record the whole process. At the same time, the detailed details of the plastic laying are not visible.
In this article, the author of the YouTube channel “soarpix.com” will tell you how to install the nozzle chamber. This camera will observe the operation of the nozzle of the 3D printer and the process of laying the plastic.
Such a camera can be equipped with almost any 3D printer, with a little modeling skills.

You guessed it, the video camera installed on the print head will play a key role here. It should be short-throw and backlit. The camera's small size and weight is also important, as each extra gram on the printhead increases its inertia, increases the load on the stepper motors, and decreases the maximum possible print speed.
Endoscope cameras are best suited for these tasks. Personally, I ordered myself here such a model (for laying the cable behind drywall). Its resolution is low (640 × 480), the clearest picture is obtained at a distance of 35-80 mm from the lens. The camera has a built-in illumination with stepless brightness control, and the body has a very small size – 7 mm in diameter and about 50 in length.

It is important to consider that these cameras are equipped with a hard or soft cable of your choice. It is advisable to take a soft cable for installation on the printer.
This camera can be connected to a computer or laptop via the USB interface. Adapters for micro-USB and type-C are also provided. Video recording on a computer can be done, for example, using the BandiCam program. On smartphones, you need to install the AN98 program, or similar to it.
So, the author is the owner of the BIQU B1 3D printer, and exactly for this model, he developed a camera holder.
The master decided to combine the holder with the nozzle of the model blowing system, for which the latter must be removed from the print head.

Everything is ready, you can print both details of the model.
By connecting the two halves of the nozzle, we get an almost complete copy of the factory nozzle with a separate hole for the camera.
The author uses an ear endoscope with a 1.3Mp matrix, but the camera has a very long body as this instrument needs to be held comfortably in your hand. It will work fine, of course, but it's better to use other, compact models .
It remains to install the camera in its place, and fasten the wire to the wire of the extruder with ties.
For convenience, you can connect this camera not to a computer, but to an old smartphone that supports the OTG function. The smartphone itself will play the role of a recording device and a screen. In this case, you need to provide continuous power to the smartphone, because the battery will not last long. The problem is that there is only one micro-USB connector on the smartphone. To connect both a camera and a charger to a smartphone at the same time, you need this OTG HUB cable .
