At last the warm days are coming, the calendar spring is in full swing, and it's time to start the construction season. This year, the author of the TEXaS TV channel has a lot of construction plans, so he promises to delight us with projects on construction topics. Let's start with one of the most important tools at the construction site – a vibratory plate, without which no construction can do.
The basis of the future vibrating plate will be a sheet of metal lying around in the bins:
It is advisable to use metal for such projects, as they say, the thicker the better. In this example, the sheet thickness is almost 10mm, or to be precise, 9.9mm.
Now it is necessary to cut a strip 350mm wide from this sheet, this will be the width of the rammer of the future vibrating plate.
Cutting such a thick enough metal with a grinder is, to be honest, so-so work. In this case, a more serious tool, for example, a plasma cutter, would not hurt, but for lack of it, a grinder would help.
After the work done with the help of angle grinders, and then welding, we got such a base with bends on both sides at the edges. Yes, it was not without welding here.
Next, we will deal with the most basic part of the vibrating plate – we will make a vibrator. Oddly enough, but for its manufacture the author decided to use just such an old faulty engine, once successfully performing its work at a gas station.
First, of course, this engine must be disassembled. Let's start by getting rid of the terminal block, we no longer need it (well, if only as a cover).
Next, the stator opens to our eyes, which we will also extract, but first we need to remove the pulley. Here it is threaded and this is of course a self-propelled gun, but for our purposes it will do.
We remove the terminals and now you can disassemble the engine itself. Everything is quite simple here, you need to unscrew 3 bolts and use a hammer to remove the side cover.
And here it is, our main part – the rotor, which we have to modify a little.
But first, it is still necessary to remove the winding, since here it is no longer necessary, well, there is only for weight. Using a hammer, remove the winding from the motor housing.
The winding is removed, now we have a completely empty case. At this stage, you can start working on the rotor. We mark the rotating part and again arm ourselves with the grinder. It is necessary to cut the rotor into 2 parts.
The rotor is halved, at the output we get an excellent shaft, on which it remains to weld one of the resulting blanks. Oddly enough, but this idea was pushed by a vibration motor from an old phone.
After welding, we got such an eccentric, almost like in a factory vibrator.
For now, we will supply the old bearings, it will work for a test, but replacing in any case is not a problem.
Further in the reverse order – putting everything into place.
When all the components are installed, we close the case, and you can do a little test and see what we get at this stage. To do this, pull the engine to the table with screws and use a drill to set the rotation.
When I pressed the trigger of the drill, the tools lying on the table jumped. The author admits that he did not expect such a strong vibration. Let's finish everything faster and see what the finished device will be capable of.
At this stage, the resulting vibrator can be installed on a base made of a thick sheet of metal, aligned along the axes and marked for fasteners.
Next, core and drill the necessary holes.
Then, in the resulting holes, you need to cut a thread of m10.
The master used car bolts as studs, extra strength will not hurt here.
We cut off the excess parts with a grinder, and finally, from the reverse side, we will grab the whole thing by welding.
Now it's time to try on.
As you can see, the whole village is perfect. And here the author again could not resist and once again try the still unfinished device in operation.
Again the drill, start and, as you can see, everything works fine. In more detail, the process of assembling a homemade vibrating plate (rammer) is shown in the author's video:
Next, you need to make a platform for the engine. Its author decided to do what was at hand. In this example, trims from the 16th shimler were used.
Anti-vibration spacers will also be needed, their role will be played by VAZ pillows, since they are inexpensive.
A piece of channel must be cut lengthwise to get two absolutely identical blanks.
This is followed by one more fitting and marking for fastening pillows.
All sizes here are arbitrary, well, then we make holes with a 10mm drill.
The resulting corners will be located as follows:
Pillows will be installed in the drilled holes, and on top there will be a platform on which the engine will be mounted.
Now we will prepare the platform-base in order to weld our fasteners.
Next, we weld again, and then we install the pillows in their places and fasten them with nuts to determine the exact size of the upper platform, which we will also make from scraps of the channel.
Cut off the necessary piece from the channel, in this example the length of the segment is 300mm.
Further, the resulting segment must be dissolved along. Of course, ideally, it would be nice to find a suitable channel, but we are not looking for easy ways and, again, we make from what we have at hand, and the master only had such a channel at hand.
Now we drill the necessary holes, of course, after making a fitting and marking.
Then, the resulting holes need to be slightly finished with a grinder. We mark and cut out all unnecessary.
Next comes the fitting again. We put everything in its place and tighten the nuts.
At this stage, you can find out the size of the missing part of the table. In this example, this figure is 120mm.
Another piece of the same channel is consumed.
Now it remains to weld this structure together. But first of all, for better penetration, we will do the joining, and then the welding.
Don't forget about aesthetics, we clean the weld seam.
Next, put the platform in its place and fix the vibrator.
As you can see, everything is fine, you can continue further.
Now you can start making a pen. As a basis, the author took the twentieth pipe and some old silent blocks that he had in his garage.
It remains to press in the silent blocks and the base for the handles is ready.
It turned out pretty good, there are still a couple of stops left and you're done.
