As you know, the alignment of layers on boards, or other not very wide surfaces, can be done on a jointer and a thickness gauge. But what if you need to process a large part, or you don't have such machines?
In this article, the author of the YouTube channel “Mr. Vereshchak” will tell you how you can make a frame for planing large (and not so) workpieces with a hand mill.
This the device is a kind of add-on for the workbench, which can be installed and removed after work. Such a frame is quite simple to make in a small carpentry workshop.
An important role here will be played by the workbench itself – its structure should be rigid, and the tabletop should be flat.
Materials necessary for home-made.

The main elements that need to be made are the racks for the guides. The main material for them will be sheet plywood 18-22 mm thick.

Based on this, he cuts out a dozen identical rectangular elements on a circular saw.

In order to accurately repeat the cut on all parts, he installed a lateral restriction block on the edge of the carriage. Resting the edge of the part against it, it is enough to simply perform a repetitive operation. He also used the same technique when cutting blanks.
As soon as the first cuts are made, the emphasis is shifted, and the second, finishing cuts are made.
The master controls the width of the groove in the first workpiece with a steel pin, for which it is intended.
Next two long rectangular bars are cut out of 32 mm plywood.
The saw blade tilts at an angle of 2 degrees (top of the rip fence). For these purposes, you can use the protractor built into the machine, or the digital goniometer .
One of the layers of the blanks is cut off at an angle.
The resulting planks are sawn into several small wedge blocks.
These sticks are targeted with a nail gun between the lower parts of the uprights, beveled side up.
The result is a kind of” clothespin “. The bar in the middle of the clamp will serve as a stop for the guides.

Upper parts of the uprights are trimmed to align the edge.
Now, at the bottom of the racks, pairs of through holes are made for furniture ties. On one side, the hole is countersunk for a countersunk screw head.
Insert the nuts are in place, the screws are screwed on the other side. This is how the author strengthened the connection.
The clamping screws are assembled as follows. furniture clip nuts will serve as a counterpart for screws.

Two identical strips are cut out of plywood.
