“In Riga do not understand the need for dialogue with Moscow”: In the Federation Council responded to the statement of the President of Latvia

Sergei Tsekov, a member of the Federation Council Committee on international Affairs, commented on the words of the leader of Latvia Raymond Vejonis, calling for EU unity in fighting the “aggression” of Russia.

The President of Latvia Raimonds vējonis urged Europe to be United, to prevent the attack of Russia.

Tsekov suggested a different scenario. In his opinion, the EU countries need to unite, but to create friendly relations with the Russian side. Because of the difficulties they had lately, in his opinion, are connected with Russophobic policies.

“The fact that Europe comes in the Wake of the Baltic countries, entails not only political, but also economic problems,” — said Tsekov.

However, the “in Riga do not understand the need for dialogue with Moscow”, he stressed.

Earlier the President of Latvia urged Europe to unity in the fight against “aggression” of Russia.
