One of the unusual, but already well-known designs of small ovens is the so-called “rocket” oven. This site has already had several different ovens of this kind, but they are quite heavy, and suitable for use in a country house or a personal plot.
In this article, the author of the YouTube channel “KUI Iron” will tell you how he made a compact “rocket” oven for cooking.
The master will make this homemade product from relatively thin, millimeter stainless steel, which will require a serious welding machine ( TIG ), and skills to work with it. Of course, such a furnace can be made from another, thicker ferrous metal, which will make it possible to get by with an ordinary welder.
Materials necessary for home-made.

So, the material for this furnace will be trim chimney pipes made of stainless steel with a thickness of 1 mm.
In addition to the base cylinder, which will serve as the body of the stove, you will need two flat rectangles of the same material. The master decided to make them from the remains of a pipe of a slightly smaller diameter.
To cut exactly two pieces of pipe, he glued two rings of masking tape to it, along the edge of which a grinder is cut.

The resulting blanks are aligned.
Now you need to make a round bottom and a cover for the stove from the resulting sheet.
The bottom disk should go inside the case, and the blank for the lid should have a margin of about 20 mm at the edges. For cutting discs it is more convenient to use metal scissors .
Using caliper the master steps back from the bottom of the body 30 mm, and forms three legs.
The inner mesh can be made from a 1.5-inch pipe. Having removed the dimensions with a caliper, the contours of the cutouts are marked in the center of the lid and bottom.
Excess material is cut out using a dremel … It is quite possible to do with a metal crown and a screwdriver.
The bottom is installed in the bottom part of the body.
It is quite difficult to cook thin stainless steel, and the master uses a TIG welding machine for this.
After cleaning the seams, they are practically invisible.
A series of cuts are made along the perimeter of the lid, peculiar petals are formed.
All petals are bent downward, at an angle of 90 degrees. As a result, the lid should fit snugly enough on the body.
For reliability and ease of use, the master welds the petals together.
The author constructs the stand from several scraps of the filler rod. This is also stainless steel, the diameter of the bar is 2 mm.
So, the case with the lid is ready.
In the central part of the firebox, you need to place a strong mesh in the form of a cylinder. It can also be replaced with a tube with many holes.
The author decided to make such a mesh on his own, welding it from the same filler rods.
First, you need to bend two rings (using the tube as a mandrel) and weld their joints. < br> Then both rings are connected rods of the same length (the same as the height of the furnace).
The resulting mesh is welded to bottom, along the perimeter of the hole.
The principle of operation of the furnace is similar with this method of setting fire to a log split along a log.
Everything is ready, pellets (compressed pellets from wood waste) will serve as fuel. They fill the firebox to the very top.
By the way, the filled stove can be safely transported – you just need to fix the lid.
Last and important the element that was overlooked when assembling the stove is the damper. It is also made of stainless steel and riveted to the bottom of the oven.
To ignite the stove, you need to fill the void inside the grid with large sawdust or paper, and set them on fire.
The oven goes into operation within a few minutes. The heated fuel begins to emit flammable gases, which are carried away due to the thrust up the channel.
As a result, the author's oven worked for more than three hours (with the damper fully open).
Of course, the design can be improved and modified, for example, by installing a windscreen. It is also advisable to make the stand in a slightly different shape so that it (in this case, the cross) is not located above the hole and does not fall inside the flame.
Opening or closing the shutter , the flame strength is perfectly regulated.
