In the manufacturing process, the master uses tools that not everyone has. For example, he uses a plasma cutter to cut holes in a metal pipe. But if you replace the metal pipe with a plastic sewer pipe, then it is cheaper and the holes can be made with an ordinary jigsaw or even cut with a red-hot knife. Likewise, other tools can be replaced if you apply a creative approach to the manufacture of this summer cottage.

Then you need to wrap the bed with foil and fill it with soil. The soil must be tamped. If this is not done, then after planting and watering, the soil will begin to sit down and pull the strawberry bushes.

The drive mechanism consists of the following parts:
DC motor geared motor, bearing, aluminum shaft and 3D printed parts.
Everything is attached to a steel plate 60 mm wide and 5 mm thick.

To hold all the structures together with the garden bed, you need a strong bracket. The weight of the pipe with soil + reducer can be more than 50 kg.
The master welded a bracket from a metal strip of 5 mm. The underside of the bracket is 60mm wide, so the 3D printed cover fits snugly against it. A hole with a diameter of at least 22 mm must be drilled in the bracket so that the shaft passes through it. The rest of the dimensions are not critical and can be performed according to the circumstances.

The master turned the shaft on a lathe from an aluminum billet. The upper part of the shaft is put on the shaft of the geared motor and is fixed with a screw. The lower part has a diameter of 20 mm and goes through the inner race of the bearing.

Now you need to screw the gearmotor to the bracket. The photo shows that the master connected the motor through the LM7812 voltage regulator. This is because the motor is powered by 12V, and the solar panel that he had is rated at 17 V. If a 12V panel is used, it can be connected directly.
The motor only consumes about 10 mA at idle and up to 100 mA at full load.
