President Donald trump has signed the Declaration of official U.S. recognition of the Golan heights, Israeli territory.
Because Israel took the #GolanHeights by military means for strategic purposes, a U.S. recognition could create a precedent for future governments to claim they can seize territory they see as strategically vital to their #security. https://t.co/OXiOcegGOf pic.twitter.com/SgKNBDs2dl

The event took place today at the White house during a personal meeting with Donald trump with the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu. “Today I am taking historic steps to promote Israel’s ability to defend itself, and do have a very strong national security, to which they are entitled”, — said trump before signing the document. Signature, the American leader gave a pen Netanyahu and said, “tell the people of Israel.”

Last week, trump wrote on his Twitter that the United States had to take the decision. However, in the current political climate, many consider this step by the White house as campaign support Netanyahu, accused at home of corruption, and political impact on the American Democrats leading the debate about anti-Semitism.
Outside the immediate political context for today’s decision should strengthen the allied relations between the United States and Israel in opposing the Syrian and Iranian regimes, however, may worsen relations with the part of the world community.
