Greetings to all lovers of tinkering, I propose for consideration the instructions for making an electric car that is capable of charging from the sun. The author did not indicate exactly how much current the solar panel generates, but such a circuit will definitely be able to recharge the batteries of an electric vehicle, which will increase the range without recharging. The process of making homemade products:
Step one. Welding the frame
For the homemade product, the author used two bicycles, we cut the frame so that there are two front parts with steering control. Next, we cut out a piece of the profile pipe of the required length and weld the two steering controls together. Already to this structure we weld the continuation of the frame of the future car.
The author also made forks from pipes, simply by flattening the ends and making cuts. We weld ready-made hinges to the opposite side and now the forks can be installed on the main frame along with the wheels.
Step two. Frame sheathing
Sheathing the frame with sheet metal, if steel is used, it can be welded, but thin metal is easier to fasten with screws or rivets.
Step three. Shock absorbers
We install shock absorbers on the rear fork, they will be needed to damp shocks when driving in holes and so on. Shock absorbers will fit from a moped or similar technique. The author bent the supports for the shock absorbers out of a round pipe and welded them to the forks, thereby strengthening them.
Step four. Steering wheel and brakes
We take the steering wheel from a kart or even from a car, a bushing with bearings under the steering shaft is welded to the frame. Well, then we install the traction and get a controlled car.
The brake system on a homemade disc, when you press the brake pedal, all 4 wheels brake. Here you need to suffer a little and carefully adjust the cables so that all wheels brake evenly. Otherwise, the car will be dragged to the side when braking. Weld the brake mounts securely to the fork.
Step five. Roof and painting
We weld the roof frame from the pipe, and then we sheathe the roof with the available material. The roof will protect us from the sun and rain, as well as solar panels will be located on it.
When everything is ready, you can remove the wheels and paint the frame well, now the homemade product looks great and will not rust.
Step six. Assembly and testing
We install solar panels on the roof, connect them through the charging module to the battery. We connect and carefully adjust the brakes, and as for the hand brake, the pedal has a locking mode in a certain position.
Of course, the author also put two headlights so that you can drive in the dark, there is also a signal that will drive an inattentive pedestrian off the road.
The author's interior light is autonomous, these are battery-powered lamps.
Control buttons are set on the steering wheel, there is also a switch that is responsible for the direction of travel.
We also put together a soft seat so that there is no discomfort from a long ride.
The electric car is ready, you can drive. The author travels quite famously with children, the homemade product has enough power, and the energy losses in the hot summer are quickly replenished by solar panels. You can ride a homemade product at night, but here everything will work only on batteries.
