Today I present to your attention a variant of the hydraulic jack modernization. The whole point is that the author replaced the lever that drives the chassis of the jack with a pedal. Someone might say that such a revision does not make sense, but it depends on which side you look at. It all depends on where and how the jack is used, the author uses his own for a homemade press, and here this revision is just convenient. In any case, I personally liked the idea, and I decided to describe it as a poet, but decide for yourself. Materials:

* hydraulic jack,
* sheet metal 6-8 mm and 30 mm thick,
* hydraulic hose,
* fittings,
* bolts and nuts,
* some parts from the jack,
* will hurt (or something that can replace it),
* car oil,
* spring.

Tools:

* welding machine,

* thread tap,
* cutting disc machine,
* gas torch,

* magnetic squares for welding,
* marking tool.

Step 1.

First, the author takes the jack and disassembles it completely , to the very foundation. See the sequence from the photo.

Next, he drills holes with a drill, as shown in the photo. In one, he cuts a thread and screw a fitting into it.

Step 2.

At this stage, the author starts making the pedal base. It will be in two parts. While collecting the first one. To do this, he cuts out the necessary parts from sheet metal 6 mm thick (maybe a little thicker, it's so difficult to determine). All of them are shown in the photo.

Step 3.

And so, the details for the first part of the base are ready. Of these, the author welds such a box. Then the welds are properly cleaned to keep everything neat.

Step 4.

After stripping, the author proceeds to drilling the holes. Marks, drills four holes and cuts a rectangular window between them. One part of the base is ready.

Step 5.

Now let's proceed to the second part. Its author was made of solid sheet steel, if I am not mistaken, the thickness is about 30 mm. First, the author gave the blank the same shape as the lower part, but this part is smaller.

Step 6.

Install the smaller part on the larger one using a barbell exposes exactly relative to the sides of the larger one and grabs it by welding. Then he drills four holes in the corners in two pieces.

Step 7.

Then the smaller part is removed, the larger one is burned from the inside by the burner , in order to keep the nutria dry (it is necessary to dry the remaining coolant after drilling).

Step 8.

The author screws two such pins with holes into the holes on the smaller part, this side of the smaller part will adhere to the larger one.

The author throws a small ball into one of the holes, to be honest, I'm not good at hydraulics and I don't know what it is for, maybe someone will tell you in the comments)))

Step 9.

Next, the author screwed the piston from the jack into the nut. Then I picked up just such a detail, as shown in the photo. On a grinder, I corrected its end. Then I welded a small elongated nut to it, into which I then screwed a threaded rod.

Looking ahead, I will say that this part is necessary to relieve pressure. He screws it into the upper part of the base.

Step 10.

Now you need to mount the pedal itself directly. < br>To do this, the author cuts off a small square from the metal strip. Then disassembles the lever installation mechanism. He only needed two plates from him. All this must be installed on top of the base. First, the author connects the parts and drills a hole in the square. Then, using a square, he welds the square into place. It fixes the plates on it through the cotter pin. He takes a ready-made pedal. How it was made, I think it makes no sense to describe, here everything is clear. Attaches the pedal to the base through plates and a spring, as shown in the photo.

Step 11.

Now it remains to secure the hydraulic hose. First, the author screws it to the base. Process in the photo. Then he pumps the pedal, the oil enters the hose, then everything works, and the hose can be connected to the jack, which the author does. That's the whole upgrade.

Step 12.

At the final stage, the author checks the equipment, first in idle mode, then on the press. Everything works fine.
